Winger Matt Jarvis feels that he should score more goals for West Ham United.

West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis has conceded that he should contribute more goals to the team.

The one-time England international has scored just once from his 16 outings in all competitions this season.

However, despite acknowledging the fact that his main role is to create opportunities for others, Jarvis has insisted that he must improve in front of goal.

"My role is to create chances for others and try to score a few goals myself. I enjoy what I do, which is trying to get to the byline and then cut back those crosses," he said. "It's what I've been doing all my career and when someone scores from one of those crosses and I get that assist, I feel a great sense of achievement.

"I've always wanted to improve my scoring ratio, though, and the way the manager sets us up, I need to be in a position to score, just as Joe Cole did against Queens Park Rangers."

Jarvis joined the Hammers in the summer from Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
