McCarthy: Stoke 'bullied' Wolves

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy reacts to the 3-0 defeat at Stoke.

Mick McCarthy has admitted that he is "upset and disappointed" with Wolves's 3-0 defeat at Stoke last night.

The manager said that his side - now one from bottom of the table - were "well beaten" after putting in a "poor performance".

"We're in a scrap for our Premiership survival and we've no chance if we play like that," he told the BBC afterwards. "I have a role to play in that, it's my team and I picked the shape of it."

With four games of the season remaining, Wolves next play Birmingham at St. Andrew's on Sunday. "You're not going to get me excited about that right now because I'm still too upset and disappointed about how we played this evening," added McCarthy. "But by Sunday, rest assured we'll be better and a lot more up for it.. I can't say we weren't up for it tonight, though - we've just been bullied and beaten by a better team."
