New Zealand bowler Kane Williamson has admitted that his side have been left deflated after coming within a single wicket of beating England today.
The tourists escaped with a draw in the Test series on a dramatic final day, thanks to some last-ditch batting from Matt Prior, Stuart Broad and Monty Panesar in Auckland.
Williamson claimed figures of 4-44 in the final innings but believes that mixed emotions will surround the series after an impressive display failed to secure victory.
He told Sky Sports News: "We are gutted, we were so close. We tried so hard. It went down to the last ball and it's pretty gutting.
"We will probably reflect on out effects with pride but at the moment it feels pretty raw."
The Black Caps will resume hostilities with England for a two-Test tour in less than three months' time.
