England wicketkeeper Matt Prior believes that Graeme Swann's off-spin could yet play a pivotal role in the first Test against South Africa.
Prior contributed a solid 60 with the bat as the hosts were all out for 385 on day two at The Oval, before South Africa replied with 86 for one at stumps.
When asked whether he thought that Swann may have a significant impact on the remainder of the Test, Prior replied: "I think he will.
"It's obviously a pretty slow wicket. Ideally for a spinner it would spin quickly.
"We hope it will speed up a little bit. But it's certainly dry, and it turned a bit even today."
Swann is six wickets short of becoming the most successful off-spinner in England's history.
