Riccardo Montolivo backs Alessandro Matri to break duck

AC Milan Riccardo Montolivo insists that Alessandro Matri will come good and start scoring goals soon for the Rossoneri.

AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo has declared that the team have faith in misfiring striker Alessandro Matri ahead of tonight's visit to his former club Juventus.

Matri made a summer switch from Turin to the San Siro but has yet to impress the Milan fans, failing to find the net in seven appearances.

Montolivo told Sport Mediaset: "Matri promised us a goal since the first day he arrived here.

"We have great faith in him, as he has always scored goals in his career, so why shouldn't he continue at Milan?"

Massimiliano Allegri's men will be heavily reliant on Matri for a spark in the final third against Juve tonight, with Mario Balotelli missing through suspension.
