The World Cup may be getting underway in Brazil, but that hasn't stopped clubs from fine-tuning their squads ahead of the new season, with the 2014-15 Serie A campaign scheduled to begin on August 31.
Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at each club's transfer targets and the deals that have already been completed this summer.
AC Milan
AC Milan will not make a more important decision all summer than appointing Filippo Inzaghi as their new manager, following the dismissal of Clarence Seedorf. The future of Mario Balotelli remains unclear though, as the striker has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.
The club have completed two signings so far this summer, with Brazilian defender Alex arriving from Paris Saint-Germain and goalkeeper Michael Agazzi joining on a free transfer from Chievo. Jeremy Menez is expected to complete his move to the club this week and it is believed that they are working on deals to sign Adil Rami and Adel Taarabt, who both impressed during loan spells at the San Siro last season.
Atalanta
Serbian forward Marko Livaja has joined Rubin Kazan and Giacomo Bonaventura could follow him out of the exit door, after his agent revealed that he is likely to leave the club this summer.
Catania forward Gonzalo Bergessio has been the subject of fresh reports linking him with a move to the club, while Giuseppe Biava recently admitted that it would be a 'dream' for him to play for Atalanta, following his release from Lazio.

Cagliari
Victor Ibarbo has been linked with a switch to Newcastle United, with Napoli also said to be interested in the Colombian international.
Another player that could be heading towards the exit door is Davide Astori, who is said to have attracted the attention of Leeds United.
Chievo
Following Agazzi's departure to Milan, signing a new goalkeeper looks high on the list of priorities for Chievo this summer. The future of Alberto Paloschi, who is co-owned by Milan, is uncertain, but Dario Dainelli, Gennaro Sardo and Nicolas Frey have all agreed to one-year contract extensions.
They have also been strongly linked with Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan and talks are said to have taken place with Inter Milan over a loan deal.

Empoli
Empoli are set to return to Serie A for the first time in six years, but they could lose goalkeeper Davide Bassi, who has been linked with a move to Championship side Norwich City.
Luca Castiglia, Simone Verdi, Massimo Maccarone, Daniele Rugani and Mirko Eramo are all expected to return to their parent clubs following loan spells, while Lazio are said to be tracking Albania international Elseid Hysaj.
Fiorentina
Romanian goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu became Fiorentina's first signing of the summer when he joined the club from Steaua Bucuresti earlier this week, but he has already been linked with a loan switch to Sampdoria.
One player who could be on their way out of Florence is Juan Cuadrado, who is said have attracted interest from Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. A return to the club may be on the cards for Fabio Quagliarella, who is reportedly among their list of targets, having fallen down the pecking order at Juventus.

Genoa
Genoa are just one of the clubs who have been linked with a move for Emanuele Giaccherini, but they could lose Alberto Gilardino, with the striker attracting interest from both New York City FC and Guangzhou Evergrande FC.
They are also said to be lining up a bid for Sevilla midfield Diego Perotti, but they will face tough competition from Rennes for his signature.
Hellas Verona
Verona have already completed one of the biggest transfer deals of the summer, by signing Argentina forward Juan Iturbe from Porto for €15m (£12.2m). He scored eight goals during a loan spell last season, but it remains to be seen how long he will stay at club, with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Roma all said to be interested in his services.
Georgian winger Giorgi Chanturia has joined the club from CFR Cluj and they are believed to be in talks with veteran forward Luca Toni over a new deal. Meanwhile, Romulo is expected to be signed on a permanent basis following a successful season on loan from Fiorentina.

Inter Milan
Inter Milan have been linked to a number of players this summer, as they look to return to the Champions League following a frustrating season. They have already confirmed the signing of Nemanja Vidic, but Thomas Ince will not be moving to Milan, having decided that his future lies in the Premier League.
With the likes of Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso and Diego Milito all moving on, Inter will be looking to strengthen their squad to cope with the added number of games that the Europa League brings. Walter Mazzarri has hinted at moves for midfielders Luiz Gustavo and Jon Obi Mikel, while forward duo Fernando Torres and Javier Hernandez have both been heavily linked with the club in recent weeks.
Juventus
If reports are to be believed, then it will be a busy summer of transfer activity in Turin. The Italian champions are reportedly in the market for a new striker, with Fernando Llorente linked with a switch to Barcelona. Should he leave, then Antonio Conte could turn his attentions to Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata or make a move for Alexis Sanchez.
Their first objective will be to keep hold of key duo Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, who have both been constantly linked with moves away from the club this summer. Midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo will definitely be in action for the Bianconeri next season, having agreed to a new two-year contract extension this week.

Lazio
Lazio's primary objective this summer will be focused on their hunt for a new manager following the departure of Edoardo Reja. Filip Djordjevic will join the club on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Nantes, while Dusan Basta is reportedly on the verge of a switch from Udinese.
The Rome outfit will have been boosted by the news that captain Stefano Mauri recently agreed to a new one-year contract extension, but rumours persist over the futures of Antonio Candreva and Keita Balde Diao.
Napoli
Frenchman Kalidou Koulibaly became Napoli's first signing of the summer when he joined from Genk last month. Meanwhile, it is believed that the club are interested in Jermaine Pennant, and there are reports that they will offer Goran Pandev to Tottenham Hotspur in a bid to land Jan Vertonghen.
Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is unlikely to turn his season-long loan into a permanent move after Rafael Benitez admitted that the club cannot afford his wages and Gonzalo Higuain may be heading towards the exit door, with Barcelona said to have made enquiries about his availability.

Palermo
Newly-promoted Palermo are said to be interested in AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri and Bologna midfielder Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.
It has also been reported that Queens Park Rangers have expressed an interest in Northern Ireland international Kyle Lafferty, who scored 11 goals as the Rosanero claimed the Serie B title last season.
Parma
Parma's transfer plans this summer have been thrown into turmoil after the resignation of president Tommaso Ghirardi, who has also put the club up for sale. Ghirardi made the announcement after Parma were denied a UEFA license to play in the Europa League next season due to financial irregularities.
He has since claimed that Antonio Cassano and manager Roberto Donadoni could leave the club, while Gabriel Paletta has been strongly linked with Roma and AC Milan.

Roma
Roma made their first signing of the summer last week as Seydou Keita joined the club on a free transfer following a short spell at Valencia. They have also been linked with moves for Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen and Chievo forward Cyril Thereau, while Iturbe remains high on their list of targets.
Arguably the most important piece of transfer business for Roma this summer will be to keep hold of their key players as they prepare for next season's Champions League. Mehdi Benatia, Kevin Strootman and Mattia Destro have constantly been linked with moves away from the Stadio Olimpico, but talk of Miralem Pjanic leaving has cooled ever since the Bosnian agreed a new contract with the club last month.
Sampdoria
Sampdoria have been boosted by manager Sinisa Mihajlovic's contract renewal, but the future of striker Manolo Gabbiadini is up in the air.
He is currently co-owned by Juventus and Sampdoria, but talks between the two clubs over where he will be next season are yet to take place.

Sassuolo
Domenico Berardi and Simone Zaza are expected to remain at Sassuolo, after helping the club to stay up in their first season back in the top flight.
Both players are on-loan from and co-owned by Juventus and the Italian champions reportedly see the club as the perfect place to continue their development.
Torino
Last season's top scorer Ciro Immobile completed his move to Borussia Dortmund last week and Torino will face a battle to keep hold of fellow Italian International Alessio Cerci.
Sweden international Pontus Jansson will join the club from Malmo in August, while a move for Livorno forward Paulinho has been mentioned in the Italian press.

Udinese
In the past week Udinese have appointed Andrea Stramaccioni as their new manager. He will be able to rely on the services of veteran Antonio Di Natale, after the striker delayed his plans for retirement until next summer.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool winger Albert Riera, who spent part of last season at Watford, has already agreed to join the club on a free transfer.
