Arkadiusz Milik double downs Heracles

Arkadiusz Milik scores twice as champions Ajax beat Heracles 2-1 in their Eredivisie match in Amsterdam to end a run of two consecutive defeats.

Ajax have bounced back from two consecutive defeats in the Eredivisie to claim a 2-0 win over Heracles this evening.

It took the hosts two minutes to take the lead as Arkadiusz Milik was slipped into the box and fired a low effort into the bottom corner.

Milik came close to grabbing a second minutes later with a volleyed effort that missed the target, before Lasse Schone saw his strike come back off the post.

On the stroke of half-time, Ajax did manage to double their lead when Milik cut inside from the right before bending an effort into the bottom corner from just outside the box.

Wouter Weghorst pulled back a goal late on for the visitors, but Ajax managed to hold on to claim the three points.
