The home side started the fixture brightly and they soon found themselves ahead in the 20th minute, when Sunu was able to convert from close range following Billy Ketkeophomphone's set piece.
The hosts continued to threaten and they were able to double their lead just five minutes later through Traore, who made use of Cheikh Ndoye's flick-on to finish beyond Vincent Enyeama in the Lille goal.
Angers had the chance to add a third not too long after the start of the second period, only for Romain Saiss to see his header kept out by Enyeama down low.
Any hope of a Lille fightback was dampened with just over 20 minutes to play, however, as Renato Civelli was sent off for a rash challenge on Romain Thomas.
The extra man allowed Angers to stifle the visitors in the closing embers of the game, leading Stephane Moulin's charges to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory and condemn Frederic Antonetti to defeat during his first game in charge at Les Dogues.
