Scottish League Two roundup: Elgin City shock Albion Rovers

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action from Scottish League Two as Elgin City shock Albion Rovers with a 2-0 win which takes them clear of the bottom.

Elgin City climbed away from danger at the bottom of Scottish League Two with a priceless 2-0 win over Albion Rovers at Borough Briggs.

Albion could have moved three points clear at the top of the table with a win as leaders Arbroath's clash with East Stirlingshire was postponed due to Allan Moore's side being on Scottish Cup duty.

However, a first-half strike from Dennis Wyness and a goal from Shane Sutherland three minutes into second-half injury time secured all three points for Elgin, who move into sixth place as a result.

Elsewhere, Queen's Park kept up the pressure on Albion and Arbroath with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Montrose thanks to goals from Darren Miller and Paul Woods, and a late brace from Jordan Moore.

Clyde's clash with Annan Athletic fell victim to the weather, while East Fife's fixture with Berwick has been rearranged due to Berwick's involvement in the Scottish Cup.

Results in full: Arbroath P-P East Stirlingshire, Clyde P-P Annan Athletic, East Fife P-P Berwick, Elgin City 2-0 Albion Rovers, Queen's Park 4-1 Montrose.
