Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli has admitted that he is "sad and frustrated" following his side's exit from the World Cup on Saturday.
France forward Kylian Mbappe scored two for France as Les Bleus advanced into the quarter finals with a 4-3 victory over the South Americans.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Sampaoli insisted that he will learn from the experience ahead of the next major tournament.
"I had many expectations and we wanted Argentina to go as far as possible in this World Cup," the 58-year-old said. "I always believed that Argentina could win, these frustrations will make me stronger, and this has allowed me to learn and to grow.
"We are out of the World Cup, this is very painful. The players have made a huge effort and it was a very difficult game.
"The players gave everything on the pitch but have not achieved our goal here in Russia. I'm sad and frustrated."
France will face Uruguay in the last eight after Edinson Cavani's double sent Portugal home.
