Emmanuel Frimpong says that he was desperate for Arsenal to become the first London club to win the Champions League.

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has revealed that watching Chelsea win the Champions League last weekend was one of the "worst" days he's experienced in a while.

The Blues managed to make history by becoming the first London club to clinch the trophy after defeating Bayern Munich on penalties.

"It was probably the worst Saturday I've had in a very long time," Frimpong told Goal.com.

"I wanted Arsenal to be the first London team to win the Champions League, but obviously it wasn't meant to be. Congratulations to Chelsea, and hopefully they enjoy their moment."

Meanwhile, Frimpong is targeting a return to the Gunners squad next season.
