Gunners midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has said that his side showed great character in their 3-1 defeat at Olympiacos on Tuesday night.
Arsene Wenger fielded a more inexperienced lineup in Athens after securing Arsenal's place in the next round last month, but was unable to bring his side back from two goals down on the road. Nevertheless, midfielder Frimpong has urged his teammates to take positives from the result.
"It was a tough game," he told the Arsenal website. "To be fair to Olympiacos I thought they played really well.
"We started off a bit slow, got into the game a bit but it was a bit too late before the half ended. We showed great character to get a goal back and it's a shame we conceded in the last minute.
"If the likes of me, Francis [Coquelin] and Alex [Oxlade-Chamberlain] can show we can play here, we can plan anywhere. I know we lost the game but we have to take positives from it."
Arsenal are next scheduled to welcome Everton to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
