Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti for his conduct in the pair's sending-off during last night's Champions League encounter.
The duo were given their marching orders by referee Viktor Kassai after each received a second yellow card in added time of the 1-1 draw at Parc des Princes.
Giroud brought down Verratti before getting shoved by Marquinhos, which resulted in the Italian falling to ground for a second time.
After the match, Giroud told reporters: "Being on a yellow card, I didn't want to make waves. I obstructed Verratti, he threw himself to the ground and I don't understand. Marquinhos pushed me from behind and I don't know how Verratti falls a second time.
"It escalated the situation. It's frustrating, especially since I don't know if the referee saw what happened. I was really surprised at his behaviour."
Giroud, who came on as a 63rd-minute substitute, will be banned for Arsenal's home game against Basel.
