Arsene Wenger: Draw is "hugely disappointing"

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that everyone is "really down" after his team let slip a 3-0 lead against Anderlecht to draw 3-3 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he was never confident of beating Anderlecht even when his team opened up a 3-0 advantage over the Belgian side.

Anderlecht struck three times during the final 30 minutes to earn a point at the Emirates Stadium to leave Arsenal still requiring two points from their two remaining fixtures to guarantee qualification for the last 16.

The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: "I was never completely sure that we were not in danger because all game you could see we didn't defend well.

"It's hugely disappointing. We have to win our next game and see if we have a chance of winning the group.

"I'm confident because one point should be enough but it's not done. Everybody is really down tonight."

Arsenal play host to Borussia Dortmund in three weeks' time before they travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray.
