Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain speaks of his delight at being included in the England starting lineup against France earlier today.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed his delight at making the starting lineup for England's opening game of Euro 2012 against France.

The 18-year-old featured for 77 minutes of England's 1-1 draw with the French until he was replaced by Jermain Defoe.

Reflecting on his third outing for the Three Lions, the Arsenal winger believes that he did "okay".

"I think I did okay," he told ITV Sport. "It was a bit frustrating at times, to get space and run at defenders which I like to do, but we play compact and had to against France.

"I'm delighted to represent my country against a good French side, and we will take a draw.

"Everything is a surprise for me at the moment. I am here to do this job, and make sure I am ready when called upon."

Oxlade-Chamberlain only made his senior international debut last month.
