Arsene Wenger reveals that Arsenal playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains on course to make his return from a knee injury before the end of the month.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains on course for a return to action against Manchester United later this month.

The Armenian playmaker, who swapped clubs as part of an exchange deal during the winter transfer window, damaged his medial knee ligaments in the first leg of the Gunners' Europa League tie against CSKA Moscow last week.

Wenger was quick to play down fears that Mkhitaryan could miss the rest of the season, and the 29-year-old may yet make his comeback in time for the April 29 clash with former club United.

"Yes, [it's a] ligament strain and he should be out for two more weeks," he told reporters. "Don't be too worried. We have good medical staff and he's very serious in his rehab."

Mkhitaryan has directly contributed to seven goals in 12 appearances for Arsenal since arriving three months ago.
