Result: Arsenal 3-1 Shrewsbury

Arsenal book a place in the fourth round of the Carling Cup after an early scare.

Arsenal have seen off Shrewsbury in an end-to-end Carling Cup game at the Emirates.

The Premier League side had an early scare in the 16th minute as James Collins headed home from inside the box for Shrewsbury. Kieran Gibbs managed to equalise for the Gunners in a similar fashion with Carl Jenkinson's help shortly after the half-hour mark.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave the home side some security with a shot from outside the box 12 minutes after the break, assisted by Yossi Benayoun.

Benayoun put away one of his own in the 78th minute to seal the Gunners' place in the fourth round.
