Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta fears that Everton manager David Moyes may decide to leave Goodison Park in the near future because of his frustration over the club's finances.

The Scot, who celebrated 10 years with the Toffees earlier this month, has been linked with a switch to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer if Harry Redknapp becomes the new England boss.

Arteta left Everton for North London in August for £10m after working with Moyes for six and a half years.

The 29-year-old believes that his former boss's restrictions in the transfer market will ultimately cause him to walk out.

"I know there will be one day when he says 'it's long enough, the club needs a new manager, needs a fresh approach,'" Arteta told The Sun

"That's when he will walk away. He won't hang around just waiting for a new contract or worrying about the money, he's not that sort of person.

"Ten years is a long time at a club that in the last few years has not been financially strong."

Arteta scored 27 goals in 162 league appearances for Everton.
