Wales boss Chris Coleman: 'Aaron Ramsey could play in any team on the planet'

Wales boss Chris Coleman says that Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is good enough to play in "any team on the planet".

Wales manager Chris Coleman has claimed that Aaron Ramsey is good enough to play in "any team on the planet".

The Arsenal midfielder played a pivotal role in getting the national side to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, where they lost to eventual champions Portugal.

Ramsey has struggled with injury this season, though, as he spent 11 weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem that he picked up on the opening weekend of the campaign.

Due to injuries, the 25-year-old has not played for Wales since the team's quarter-final win over Belgium at the European Championships in the summer, and Coleman claims that the midfielder has been sorely missed.

"Take him out of any team and it's a loss," BBC Sport quotes Coleman as saying. "That's not a biased opinion because I'm a Welshman and we all love Rambo.

"I'm looking at it clinically. Playing in tournament against the top teams, he was head and shoulders above. In my personal opinion there's not a team on the planet he couldn't play for."

Ramsey is likely to feature when Wales go head to head with Serbia in their World Cup qualifying campaign on Saturday.
