Kieran Gibbs: 'We had to be patient'

Kieran Gibbs says that Arsenal had to be patient in order to secure their 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers.

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has stated that patience was key in their victory at Queens Park Rangers.

Second-half goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez gave the Gunners a 2-1 success at Loftus Road this evening.

Arsenal had taken first-half leads in their last five Premier League games prior to Wednesday night's fixture, but Gibbs says that they needed to take a different approach against the struggling Hoops.

"We know that it's always difficult when you come to this place," he told Arsenal's official website. "It was about keeping focused. We had a lot to deal with defensively tonight and I feel the team responded well to that.

"We just waited for our opportunity and we took it. We've scored lots of our goals this season early on and it's just whether we can hold on later in games and score.

"We have to remember that we don't have to win the game in the first half, we know we have players who can score anytime so we just have to keep a good balance in the team and wait for our opportunity."

Arsenal remain third in the Premier League with the result.
