Dietmar Hamann: 'I'm a secret Arsenal fan, they're excellent to watch'

Former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann admits that he is a "secret" Arsenal fan.

Former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann has revealed that he is a "secret" Arsenal supporter.

The 41-year-old German spent the majority of his career playing for Liverpool and has gone down as a favourite among the fans after helping guide the Reds to Champions League glory in 2005.

However, Hamann has revealed that he will always choose to watch Arsenal because of the attractive football that they play.

"I'm a secret Arsenal fan," Hamann told talkSPORT. "Whenever they are playing on a Sunday or a Tuesday night, I'll be watching them. I find it very hard not to watch them. I just love the way they play, they are excellent to watch."

Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night, despite sealing a 2-0 win against Monaco in France.

The Ligue 1 outfit progressed into the quarter-finals due to an away goal that they scored in the first leg at the Emirates.
