Jack Wilshere returns to training with Arsenal

Arsenal welcome Jack Wilshere back to their London Colney training centre as he continues his search for a new club.

Arsenal have welcomed Jack Wilshere back to the club for training purposes.

The ex-Gunner is currently a free agent after leaving Bournemouth at the end of last season and gave a hard-hitting interview opening up about his struggles earlier in the summer.

Mikel Arteta previously affirmed that the club's doors were 'always open' for Wilshere to return for training, and the midfielder is now back at London Colney as he continues his search for a new club.

Speaking to arsenal.com about Wilshere's return, Arteta said: "I am very happy to have him back. We had a conversation with Jack and understand the needs that he has, the period that he is going through and I think everyone at the club agreed it was the right moment to help him.

"[For a young player] it is about making it here, beginning to establish yourself and then taking it to the next level for many years and that is very complicated and I think Jack has a great experience to share and talk about what he has been through in his career.

"We want to help him prepare for his next stage, physically and mentally, he wants to do his coaching badges and we are prepared to fulfil all the needs that he wants. That is basically the idea and it is no further than that."

Wilshere scored 14 goals and assisted 30 more in 198 appearances for Arsenal before leaving in 2018 - winning two FA Cups in that time - but Arteta has seemingly ruled out the possibility of the 29-year-old playing for the club again.
