Arsenal's Arsene Wenger confirms Theo Walcott return for Southampton clash

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirms that Theo Walcott will be in the squad for this weekend's match against Southampton following an abdominal injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Theo Walcott will be in the squad for this weekend's Premier League clash against Southampton.

The 24-year-old has been out of action since undergoing surgery in September on an abdominal problem, but Wenger has insisted that he will be cautious with the England international.

"He's completely fit again," Wenger told the club's official website. "He has not played for a long time, of course, he has not played even a reserve team game, but I will put him in the squad on Saturday."

The Gunners are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
