Arsene Wenger fumes at late goal

Arsene Wenger says that Everton's late equaliser should have been disallowed as Arsenal draw 1-1 with the Toffees in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has said that Everton's late equaliser should not have stood as the visitors came back to secure a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this evening.

The hosts went 1-0 up through Mesut Ozil in the 80th minute, but Gerard Deulofeu struck late on to grab his side a draw.

"I think it was offside and he (Romelu Lukaku) made a foul on the goal, but the referee didn't give it," manager Wenger told reporters after the game.

"[Laurent] Koscielny can take the cross, head the ball, but he cannot do it because of [Lukaku's] overhead kick, but it doesn't mean we have to concede a goal behind that. You have to give Deulofeu credit, he took his goal well.

"It just feels that when we got out of the pressure, and got into the passing, they stopped us every time with a foul."

Arsenal find themselves five points clear at the top of the Premier League following this afternoon's draw.
