Arsene Wenger: 'We do not need many signings in summer'

Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal are not looking to make major changes to the squad this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the club will not be looking to make big changes to the squad this summer.

Despite suggesting that he is only targeting a few key players, Wenger believes the supporters may have to wait to see the Gunners be active in the transfer window.

"It will be busy, but the main thing for us will be to keep the stability because we feel we are close," the Frenchman told members of the media.

"We want to add something that makes us even stronger, but number-wise it will not be massive.

"From my experience the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable."

Reports earlier this week suggested that Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender was Wenger's top target.
