Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says that he is unsure whether he would take the England job if offered it in the future.

Outgoing Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is uncertain whether he would be willing to manage England in the future.

Speaking to reporters in his final pre-match press conference as Gunners boss, the Frenchman refused to rule out taking a job with the national team, but insisted that he hopes Gareth Southgate will remain at the helm of the Three Lions in the long term.

"I don't know. I've had the opportunity, but at the moment I'm behind Gareth Southgate - hopefully he stays for 22 years," said Wenger ahead of Arsenal's trip to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League.

Arsenal are yet to announce who will succeed Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, with the leading candidates said to be Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Gunners' visit to Huddersfield will be Wenger's final game in charge.
