Jack Wilshere aiming to "prove everyone wrong" during Bournemouth loan spell

On-loan Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere targets a run of games in the Cherries' starting lineup as he aims to prove that his fitness issues are a thing of the past.

Jack Wilshere has admitted that he is relishing the chance to prove his critics wrong by getting minutes under his belt and hitting top form during his time at Bournemouth.

The England international surprised many when departing Arsenal on deadline day for a stint on the south coast, where he will remain until the end of the campaign.

Wilshere was introduced as a second-half substitute in the Cherries' 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon, which he hopes will be the first of many appearances between now and next May.

"My biggest goal is to get as many games as possible," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "If there is a question mark about me, I know that it's my fitness. So I hope to get as many minutes in, prove everyone wrong and re-kick my career. I'm feeling better with each training session.

"The sessions are intense and I'm getting up to speed. A big reason I came here was the manager and his philosophy to pass the ball and keep the ball. That's want I want to do. He's a great coach. I've been working here for 10 days. The training is hard and intense but that's what I need now.

"It was a good win for us and it was good for me to come on and get my first minutes and get used to how the lads play. I spoke with the manager during the week and he's got a plan for me so I was happy to be on the bench."

Wilshere was recently backed by Arsene Wenger to become the manager of Arsenal one day, while also hinting that a new contract could be offered to the midfielder before the end of the year.
