Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere insists that he can "deal" with England expectations when he eventually returns to the national set-up.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has insisted that he will be able to "deal" with the level of expectation placed on his shoulders when he returns to the England squad.

The 20-year-old has been sidelined for over a year with ankle and knee injuries but made his comeback in the Gunners' 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Following his return to action there has been talk over a possible call-up to the Three Lions' squad for a friendly against Sweden next month and the midfielder believes that the fans will be full of expectation when he makes his international comeback.

"Football is like that, especially with England," London24 quotes Wilshere as saying. "You become a better player when you are injured, you become a world beater when you are injured. When you come back, there is an expectation, but I can deal with it."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has called on England boss Roy Hodgson not to pick Wilshere for the game next month.
