The agent of former Birmingham City striker Nikola Zigic has revealed that Arsene Wenger has opened talks with his client over a potential move to Arsenal this summer.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since being released by the Blues at the end of last season, but Serbian publication Sports Journal claims that Zigic has agreed terms ahead of a shock move to the Emirates Stadium.
"Wenger called me on Tuesday and stressed his desire to sign Zigic," Milan Calasan told Telegraf Sport. "He was offered a contract until the end of the year, with a view to it being extended to 2015 – we'll see what happens."
Arsenal could be without forward Olivier Giroud for the remainder of the year after he picked up an ankle injury is last week's 2-2 draw against Everton.
