Arsenal lining up John Stones move?

Manchester City defender John Stones, who has been enjoying more first-team action recently, is reportedly a transfer target for Arsenal.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Manchester City defender John Stones.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed somewhat of a revival at the Etihad Stadium recently, starting in both wins over Olympiacos as well as the 5-0 thrashing of Burnley in the Premier League.

However, Stones has been out of favour at Man City for the past several months and has found it hard to break into the team over the likes of Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias, leading to talk of a move elsewhere.

According to Eurosport, Arsenal - who have been credited with an interest in Stones in the past - are keen to enter negotiations with Stones if he decides to head for the Etihad exit door.

The report suggests that the former Everton man could be persuaded to stay if he enjoys a consistent run in the first team, but Stones will contemplate his future if he drops down to the bench again over the festive period.

Stones has turned out 137 times for City since his arrival in 2016, where he is under contract until the end of the 2021-22 season.
