Arsenal are reportedly set to miss out on the signing of Barcelona forward Malcom as he closes in on a move to Zenit St Petersburg.
The Russian outfit's sporting director, Barcelona-born Javier Ribalta, is currently in his hometown to try and secure the signature of the former Bordeaux winger.
However, according to AS, the La Liga champions are demanding €41m (£37.5m) for Malcom - the same fee they paid when they signed him from under the noses of Roma - a valuation Zenit are trying to negotiate down.
Malcom has struggled to make an impact in Spain and has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal had been linked with the wide-man as an alternative to apparent first-choice Wilfried Zaha, along with the likes of Yannick Carrasco and Ryan Fraser.
The Gunners appear to have landed a winger already, however, with the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille expected to be announced soon.
