Arsenal allegedly make one last attempt to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey before Monday's transfer deadline.

Arsenal have allegedly made one final attempt to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

While the Gunners have been heavily linked with the Ghana international throughout the summer transfer window, there has been a reluctance to meet the player's £45m release clause.

Atletico have no interest in a sale for anything below that fee, as well as remaining insistent that no players can be involved in a part-exchange deal.

However, Goal correspondent Charles Watts has claimed that Arsenal are not prepared to give up on the 27-year-old.

Lucas Torreira is currently waiting for Atletico to complete a sale so that he can leave the Emirates Stadium for Wanda Metropolitano, a factor which may have influenced Arsenal's latest bid.

As of Sunday, it was suggested that Atletico did not envisage any issues with being able to retain the services of one of their key men.
