Arsenal boss Unai Emery will only have £40m to spend on new signings at the end of the season, according to a report.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery will reportedly only have £40m to spend on new signings at the end of the season.

The Gunners brought in Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez on loan last month and it is understood that there is an £18m option to make the deal permanent in this summer's transfer window.

However, according to The Mirror, signing Suarez would place a huge dent in Arsenal's summer budget, with Emery only due to be handed £40m to improve his squad ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.

The report, though, has claimed that Emery will look to offload players in order to free up more funds, with Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi among those who could be for sale this summer.

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points off fourth-placed Chelsea with 13 matches of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign left to play.
