Arsenal are reportedly reluctant to fork out the entirety of Alexander Isak's release clause at Real Sociedad.
The Gunners have only a week left in the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options, with the club continuing to be frustrated in their pursuit of Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic.
As a result, Arsenal have supposedly turned their attention to Sweden international Isak, whose existing deal with Sociedad does not expire until 2026.
The Spanish club are understood to be holding out for the full release clause to be paid to sanction Isak's sale, but The Athletic reports that Arsenal want to try to drive the price down.
Isak's release clause is rumoured to be in the region of £75m, with the Sweden international penning a new long-term deal with the La Liga club in the summer of 2021.
The 22-year-old has just four goals to his name from 18 La Liga games this season and was brought off the bench for the final 28 minutes of Sunday's goalless stalemate with Getafe.
