Guillem Balague: 'Atletico Madrid keen on Santi Cazorla'

Renowned Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims that Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla has courted interest from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid have contacted Arsenal ace Santi Cazorla to discuss a potential switch to the Vicente Calderon, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

Speculation is rife that the in-form Spain international has agreed to join the Primera Division champions in the summer after impressing for the Gunners this season.

Balague told Sky Sports News: "He has 18 months left on his contract at Arsenal, and Atletico have contacted Cazorla's entourage.

"Atletico are convinced that they can persuade the player to join them. Then they just have to pay the money.

"There will be one year left on his contract in the summer, and will be available for cheaper."

The 30-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012, has netted seven times for Arsenal this season.
