Denilson has joined Sao Paulo on loan for another 12 months, according to reports in Brazil.

Reports in Brazil claim that Arsenal midfielder Denilson is to extend his stay at Sao Paulo.

The 24-year-old rejoined former club Sao Paulo on loan last year, having endured a torrid time during his Gunners career so far, and will now stay in Brazil after agreeing another one-year loan deal.

Sao Paulo's director of football Adalberto Bautista sorted out a deal with the player's representatives, which resulted in the Brazilian outfit needing to increase the money on offer to Arsenal.

The club and player were both looking for a permanent deal after Denilson established himself in the Sao Paulo side after making nearly 70 appearances.

Denilson will have just one year left on his contract with Arsenal when his latest loan deal expires, making a transfer fee more reasonable for Sao Paulo should they wish to keep the player.
