Unsettled Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been left angered by new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, according to a report.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has reportedly been left angered by new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta as the Switzerland international prepares to leave the club.

Xhaka's agent has revealed that the 27-year-old has agreed terms to join Hertha Berlin in January.

The Swiss had been tipped to remain at the Emirates Stadium after being praised by Arteta ahead of the Spaniard's first game in charge of the club against Bournemouth.

However, according to Blick, Xhaka is unhappy that Arteta had praised him in public but had been critical in private, with the player allegedly being told that he can leave the club at the start of 2020.

The midfielder was appointed Arsenal captain earlier this season but lost the armband following an on-field outburst during the latter stages of Unai Emery's tenure.

There has not yet been an official update from either the Gunners or Bundesliga side Hertha regarding a potential deal during the January transfer window.
