Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette insists that he is not solely responsible for his Emirates future, with his existing deal due to expire in the summer of 2022.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has affirmed that contract talks with the club are not only on his side.

The former Lyon man is yet to pen an extension on his existing Emirates deal which expires in 2022, and he has been linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Roma should he further his career elsewhere.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Folarin Balogun is very close to signing a new Arsenal contract, but Lacazette's contract situation is more uncertain, and he has quietened talk of his future while the Gunners focus on the remainder of the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Lacazette said: "My plan is to win a trophy with the club this season and it would be easy for me to pretend to have a contract extension.

"Everything is not only on my side, there is also the club, the manager. There are different things we have to think about. I don't think it's the right moment to talk about it."

Lacazette netted back-to-back braces against Sheffield United and Slavia Prague before being forced off with a hamstring problem in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Fulham, although the club are supposedly expecting to welcome Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back next week as he recovers from malaria.
