Napoli to hijack Arsenal move for Lille's Gabriel Magalhaes?

Napoli reportedly offer Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes a lucrative contract as they try to persuade the 22-year-old to snub Arsenal in favour of Serie A.

Napoli could reportedly attempt to hijack Arsenal's proposed move for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

A recent report claimed that Arsenal have made an official approach to sign the 22-year-old, who turned out 34 times for Lille across all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign.

While the Gunners are regarded as the favourites to land Gabriel, the centre-back is understood to be a man in demand and Arsenal will be unlikely to wrap up a deal for him swiftly.

According to Sky Sports News, Napoli have offered Gabriel a lucrative contract in an all-out attempt to persuade the defender to snub Arsenal in favour of Serie A.

The report also states that Everton have met Lille's asking price for the former Brazil Under-20 international, but Arsenal and Napoli now appear to be engaged in a two-horse race for Gabriel's services.

Despite the fact that Napoli have left it late to table a bid, Gabriel supposedly remains undecided on his future and will make up his mind later this week.
