Arsene Wenger could be poised to make a move for Atletico Madrid's defensive midfielder Joshua Guilavogui as Arsenal's move for Sami Khedira stalls.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly ready to make a move for Atletico Madrid's defensive midfielder Joshua Guilavogui.

Guilavogui, 23, joined Atletico Madrid last summer from Ligue 1 side St Etienne for £7.9m.

However, Guilavogui has struggled to make an impression in Spain, making just one appearance for the Spanish champions.

A fee of £11.5 has been mooted for the Frenchman, as Wenger's interest in Sami Khedira appears to have cooled.

Arsenal face competition from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for Guilavogui's signature, according to the Daily Star.
