Report: Liverpool eye Javi Martinez, Alberto Moreno

Liverpool are reportedly poised to lock horns with rivals Arsenal for Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez.

Liverpool are reportedly poised to join Arsenal in a bidding war over Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez this summer.

The Spain international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks but, according to The Mirror, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is prepared to rival the Gunners to secure the 25-year-old's signature.

Martinez, a £36m signing from Athletic Bilbao in 2012, has three years to run on his existing deal at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, the report goes on to claim that Rodgers is also tracking £18m-rated Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, who is said to have also courted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
