Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus 'almost joined Arsenal this summer'

Reports suggest that Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus was on the verge of signing for Arsenal before picking up an injury while on international duty.

Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is said to have almost signed for Arsenal in June.

Respected Spanish journalist Kike Marin has claimed that the Gunners were on the verge of completing a £27.6m deal for the winger, only to pull the plug on the transfer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have scrapped the switch after Reus picked up an ankle injury while on international duty with Germany.

The Premier League club are now thought to have reignited their interest in the fit-again Reus, but face competition from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Barcelona for his signature.
