Stewart Robson says that Theo Walcott is a liability and should be allowed to leave Arsenal if his wage demands are too high.

Former Arsenal star Stewart Robson believes that Arsene Wenger should sell Theo Walcott if his wage demands are too high.

Walcott is out of contract at the end of next season and has reportedly been attracting interest from London rivals Chelsea. The England international has yet to agree a new deal with the Gunners, with the player's wage amount allegedly proving a stumbling block.

However, Robson feels that Walcott doesn't warrant a high wage, and should be allowed to leave the club.

"It wouldn't worry me if Theo Walcott were to leave tomorrow," Robson told talkSPORT.

"Theo Walcott, for me, is not a good footballer. He is an athlete who puts on a pair of football boots.

"He is quick, he is fast, but when he was younger he should have been taught how to be better technically, how to find space, how to find awareness. He has never done that and he is a liability when he is defending.

"For Theo Walcott to want more money, I would let him go."

Walcott signed for Arsenal from Southampton in January 2006.
