Rudy Gestede: 'Next win is not far away'

Rudy Gestede is confident that Aston Villa will pick up their second Premier League victory of the season soon.

Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede has suggested that the team are not far away from earning their second Premier League victory of the season.

Tim Sherwood's side made it six games without a win on Saturday as they were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool at Anfield, leaving them 18th in the table.

Gestede, who netted both Villa goals on Merseyside, says that the team can take plenty of positives from their performance.

"When you score two goals away from home, most of the time you take something - but unfortunately for us we didn't this weekend," the Frenchman told Villa's official website.

"We're close to getting the next win I believe. Every time it's a few things we don't do right or well. But we showed we can score against any team.

"Now we need to improve and be stronger as a team and get some wins. We need wins. If you want to be higher in the league you have to get victories."

Villa host Stoke City on Saturday.
