Atlanta 2-0 Fiorentina

Atalanta score two goals without reply during their home fixture against Fiorentina.

Fiorentina remain in relegation trouble following their 2-0 loss away at Atalanta this afternoon.

The match started badly for the visitors, who found themselves a goal behind with 11 minutes played. Gianpaolo Bellini sent over a cross which was turned into the goal by the head of German Denis.

Fiorentina's best chance to get back in the match before the break fell to Stevan Jovetic, but he was unable to keep his low effort on target from 12 yards out.

The home side made sure of the victory six minutes after the restart courtesy of Giacomo Bonaventura, who struck the ball right footed into the top corner of the net from 18 yards.

Jovetic had another chance to bring Fiorentina back into the match 20 minutes from time when his side were awarded a penalty after Cristian Raimondi had fouled Boadu Maxwell Acosty inside the area. However, Andrea Consigli was on hand to save Jovetic's effort.
