Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has admitted that he will find it difficult to ignore Aritz Aduriz if the Athletic Bilbao striker continues his excellent run of scoring form this season.
The 34-year-old has already netted 20 times in all competitions this season and hit a hat-trick in Bilbao's 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
Aduriz, who recently revealed his disappointment at missing out on the latest squad earlier this month, has only ever won one cap for Spain and that came in 2010.
"Aduriz is doing well to get in the national team, but only when there's a squad to call," Marca quotes Del Bosque as saying.
"He may or may not come in March, but in the meantime speculating about everything is beside the point. We can't call anyone in December or January.
"Aduriz is playing great, he's the top scorer in the country. If when Euro 2016 approaches he's still in good form, we'll have to take him into account. We make a selection for France, nothing more."
Since joining Bilbao from Valencia in 2012, Aduriz has scored 105 times in 244 games for the Basque club.
