Leo Baptistao gains unwanted La Liga record

On-loan Real Betis forward Leo Baptistao becomes the first player to win La Liga and get relegated in the same season following Atletico Madrid's title success on Saturday.

Brazilian forward Leo Baptistao has become the first player to win La Liga and get relegated in the same season following Atletico Madrid's title success on Saturday.

The former Rayo Vallecano attacker moved to Atletico last summer, but has been on loan at Real Betis, who have been relegated this season, since January.

It is understood that Baptistao will return to Atletico later this month, but it is unclear whether his long-term future is at the Calderon.

The 21-year-old was previously strongly linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.
