Diego Costa snubs Brazil for Spain

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa officially decides to play for Spain and not for Brazil at senior international level.

Diego Costa has confirmed his intention to play for Spain.

The Spanish Football Federation has announced that the Brazil-born Atletico Madrid striker has officially stated his desire to represent the European and world champions at senior international level.

The 25-year-old featured in two friendly internationals for the country of his birth Brazil in March and was eligible to switch allegiances as he has both Spanish and Brazilian passports.

"In this way, Diego Costa will play with Spain in the next matches of the month of November, if deemed appropriate by the national coach. "

Costa is currently the top scorer in La Liga with 11 goals from 10 matches.
