Preview: Atletico Madrid vs. Deportivo La Coruna

Sports Mole previews the match between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Atletico Madrid will be looking to extend their run of 10 wins from 12 matches when they host Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday morning.

The defending La Liga champions started the season slowly but they have improved to put themselves in contention at the top of the standings behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Coach Diego Simeone is likely to recall Antoine Griezmann after the French attacker was demoted to the bench in the Champions League in midweek, but Miranda remains a doubt with a hamstring problem.

Simeone will also be hoping that striker Mario Mandzukic can maintain his hot streak in front of goal, with the Croatian scoring a hat-trick against Olympiacos to follow up three goals in his last four league outings.

After earning promotion last season, Deportivo have struggled during the opening three months of the season but they have steadied the ship in recent weeks with just one defeat in five matches.

However, three goalless draws have come in that period, including against David Moyes's Real Sociedad last weekend, to leave the Brancoazuis in the relegation zone.

Coach Victor Fernandez is unlikely to make many alterations to his team, but Cezary Wilk is pushing for a return in midfield.
