Jackson Martinez confirms Atletico Madrid switch

Jackson Martinez confirms that he is on his way to Atletico Madrid in a £24m move but is unsure when the deal will be officially announced.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez has confirmed that he will be making his way to Atletico Madrid on a four-year deal, but is unsure when the deal will be officially announced.

The Colombian forward was previously linked with a move to AC Milan but has made a U-turn in the following weeks.

The 28-year-old now looks to be heading to La Liga in a £24m move after revealing the news to reporters in Vina del Mar.

"I can confirm I am going to Atletico. I am going there for four years, but I still don't know when I will be introduced," Martinez said, according to Goal.com.

"I have had a great progression, always learning, always growing, and now I'm going to Atletico where I hope to help the team and also continue to grow as a player.

"I hope to be another Colombian as successful as Falcao was there."

Martinez's agent Luiz Henrique Pompeo confirmed the news earlier this week.
